Staff in President Hotel
The President Hotel is a wonderful hotel, with a clean and spacious entrance. The hotel is listed as a 3*** hotel - though elsewhere as a 4***. I was afraid it would be 'nothing', but I'm very pleasantly surprised. It has definitely a 4**** quality. The staff is very customer friendly and helpful. The room is more than I expected: spacious enough, a good bed and a complete bathroom with bathtub. There is also a coffee/tea maker in the room and a very large flat screen TV on the wall. It is a large hotel, so at the - excellent - breakfast there are quite a few other visitors walking around. There is also a bar and a restaurant. The hotel is within a 5' walking distance of Russell Square Underground Station (Piccadilly Line) and therefore very easily accessible. I warmly recommend this hotel.

My single room was tiny but cozy warm, clean and comfortable. The twin bed was outfitted with down pillows and duvet comforter, standard issue in a more costly hotel and a pleasure to find here. While the £15 price of breakfast was not included in the room charge, I enjoyed a copious and tasty breakfast one morning, and can recommend the generous and wide selection of food. The location, just steps from the Russell St tube stop, is fabulous for those who want to see performances on the West End or at the theatres around Covent Garden. For a fairly modest charge, you can enjoy the benefits of lodging in a great neighborhood. Good value for the money.

Perfect location in Bloomsbury next to Russell Square and a one minute walk to the underground station. The staff member on reception who checked me in was friendly and gave me the choice of several different rooms and said the rooms that overlook the square and the main road could be affected by noise. I opted for a room next to Guilford Street and found the sound proofing to be very effective. The room had a double bed and was certainly big enough for me. A refurbishment of the hotel was completed in the spring of 2024, so the fittings were virtually brand new, and everything worked as it should.

Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice with everything continually being topped up. Staff were very efficient. The quality of the food was very good too, for example the bacon was thicker than you normally get and this was the case all four mornings we breakfasted. The location was fantastic, we walked to Covent Garden in about 10 or 15 minutes, but there was also a tube station next to the hotel (Russell Square) which is on the Piccadilly line - takes you straight into theatreland in minutes. Hotel staff were friendly and efficient.

Philip

The staff we interacted with were superb. I noted the bathroom bin had not been emptied before we arrived, commented on this to a receptionist (Elger) and it was sorted very quickly. I drank a lot of coffee and sugar and constantly requested refills which the staff were very obliging about. We requested an extra hour of room use - no problem. We ate in the restaurant and, again, the staff were excellent, as was the food.
